Rust Map Maker is a free custom Rust map generator. Pick any seed and world size and get back a plain, unmodified Rust world — matching terrain, monuments, roads and rivers — then preview it in 2D and 3D and grab a server-ready level URL.
What this Rust map generator gives you
- The fastest measured Rust procedural map generation available. Production 6000m maps have completed in 2 minutes 5 seconds, with another customer map completing in 2 minutes 9 seconds and a 4 minute 5 second median across 60 generations including high-load conditions comparable to force-wipe demand. - One of the largest available Rust procedural-map catalogues. Browse 19765 maps by seed and world size, with 2D and 3D previews before you generate or join a server.
- Put any monument where you want it (Premium). Force, pin and rotate any of 26 major monuments — even ones the world size would never roll — as a full worldgen run, so the generator lays the roads, rails and rivers out around it instead of you pasting it into a finished map. Terraform-to-fit seats it on ground that would otherwise reject it, and every pin is reported back as placed or fallback with the distance, so you are never told a placement worked when it did not.
- Walk the whole map in 3D. Fly across the real terrain with the actual monument meshes and cliffs.
- Spawn heatmaps for what players actually chase. Ore nodes, animals, hemp, berries, food plants, trees and player spawn points, computed from the game's own spawn rules against that map's biome, topology and splat layers — over the 2D map and in 3D.
- Always current. An auto-regen worker keeps the gallery in step with the live game build, so nothing you browse is a stale render from an old patch.
- Capacity that holds on wipe day. Maps are generated on dedicated hardware we run ourselves across more than one generation node, not burst capacity rented per job. Output is checked against the current game build, and uncertain jobs fall back rather than serving a questionable map.
- Custom generator (Premium). Dial in the biome mix, include or exclude specific monuments, toggle Bandit Camp, center the Outpost, smooth the terrain down to gentler hills, ocean-level shallow bays into buildable land, and save the whole configuration as a reusable preset.
- Edit maps in the browser (Premium). Relocate the oil rigs and bake a custom Outpost into the level, then download a server-ready level URL.
- View a live server's current map before you join. Search a public Rust server, pull the map it is currently running, and preview its monuments and building-blocked (no-build) zones before you connect.
- Developer API. Generate maps — plain or fully custom — look them up by seed and world size, search the catalogue, and export any map as an image, a raw heightmap or a 3D glTF mesh — over HTTP, from your own tooling.

Developer API
Rust Map Maker has a documented HTTP API: see the developer API reference for map generation, lookup by seed and world size, catalogue search, uploads, and image, heightmap and 3D glTF export. There is a live 3D terrain export you can open in the browser, and the pricing page lists the plans and their monthly credit allowances. A machine-readable overview of the whole site lives at /llms.txt.
