The fastest Rust map generator. Full stop.
Rust Map Maker generates Rust procedural maps faster than anything else on the market: a 6000m world in as little as 31 seconds, and 1 minute 24 seconds under high load. Under normal load a 3000m map typically finishes in 12–16 seconds. Pick any seed and world size and get a complete, server-ready Rust map, plain vanilla or customised as far as you want to take it, then preview it in 2D and 3D and grab a level URL.
Coming soon: more in-browser editing and custom monument support.
What this Rust map generator gives you
- Yes, those numbers are real. Measured over more than 40,000 real generations in two days, not a benchmark rig. Don't believe us? An account is free: free accounts generate up to 3000m, so generate a 3000m map and time it yourself. Every size, every number.
- A normal server takes minutes. We take seconds. A stock Rust server on 2 cores needs 7 minutes 37 seconds just to generate a 4500m map, and 9 minutes 37 seconds before anyone can join. In that time you can generate about 25 maps here, edit them and regenerate the ones you don't like.
- Browse the catalogue. Every public map by seed and world size, with 2D and 3D previews before you generate or join a server.
- Put any monument where you want it (Premium). Force, pin and rotate any of 27 major monuments — even ones the world size would never roll — as a full worldgen run, so the generator lays the roads, rails and rivers out around it instead of you pasting it into a finished map. Every pin levels its own ground and the monument lands on the pin, or you are told which one did not, how far off it landed and why: pins that cannot work turn red before you generate, and pins that may not work turn amber. You are never told a placement worked when it did not.
- Walk the whole map in 3D. Fly across the real terrain with the actual monument meshes and cliffs.
- Spawn heatmaps for what players actually chase. Ore nodes, animals, hemp, berries, food plants, trees and player spawn points, computed from the game's own spawn rules against that map's biome, topology and splat layers — over the 2D map and in 3D.
- Always current. The public catalogue regenerates on force wipe, or when a Rust update actually changes the maps the game generates, so nothing you browse is a stale render from an old patch. Customer maps are unaffected.
- Our own hardware. We own and operate all of the hardware the site runs on. Nothing is rented.
- The most customizable Rust map generator there is (Premium). Dial in the biome mix, include or exclude specific monuments, toggle Bandit Camp, center the Outpost, smooth the terrain down to gentler hills, ocean-level shallow bays into buildable land, and save the whole configuration as a reusable preset.
- Edit maps in the browser (Premium). Relocate the oil rigs, paint biomes and topology flags, or bake a custom Outpost into the level, then download a server-ready level URL. Coming to the same editor: custom monument support.
- View a live server's current map before you join. Search a public Rust server and preview the map it is running, its monuments and building-blocked (no-build) zones, before you connect. We show every live map that is publicly indexable or downloadable, and a server owner who would rather not be shown can ask us to take it down.
- Developer API. Generate maps — plain or fully custom — look them up by seed and world size, search the catalogue, and export any map as an image, a raw heightmap or a 3D glTF mesh — over HTTP, from your own tooling.

Developer API
Rust Map Maker has a documented HTTP API: see the developer API reference for map generation, lookup by seed and world size, catalogue search, uploads, and image, heightmap and 3D glTF export. There is a live 3D terrain export you can open in the browser, and the pricing page lists the plans and their monthly credit allowances. A machine-readable overview of the whole site lives at /llms.txt.
Community
A live community, not a contact form. The official Rust Map Maker Discord is where we give support, with quick turnaround on any kind of help, from our products to custom map work. It is also where maps get posted, seeds get traded and bugs get reported: #map-showcase for finished maps, #seeds-and-finds for seeds worth generating, #custom-map-help for RustEdit, prefabs, heightmaps and uploads, #support for generation issues, site bugs and billing, and #changelog for every generator and site change as it ships. Link your Discord on your account page and your plan role appears in the server within about ten minutes; supporters and up also get a separate priority lane for support threads.
