The Apartment Complex is a safe-zone city block added in the July 2026 update — rentable apartments, player-run shops, elevators, mailboxes, a train station and a playground, all protected by anti-PvP turrets.

The Apartment Complex is a safe zone built as a dense, run-down urban block — a very different setting from Rust’s other monuments. Like the Outpost and Bandit Camp it is protected by anti-PvP turrets, so no fighting or looting happens inside; its value is in services and player-run commerce rather than crates.
Players can rent an apartment or open a shop by paying an upfront scrap fee plus ongoing rent that ticks in real time, so holding a spot means keeping it funded. Shops can also change hands: after a shop has been open for a while another player can take it over for a higher fee, and that cost keeps climbing each time it flips until someone lets the rent lapse and it resets.
Beyond the apartments and shops the block packs in elevators, mailboxes, a train station tying it into the rail network, a playground and plenty of urban detail. As a procedural monument it appears on larger maps where the generator finds room for it — a new safe-zone hub for trading and player economies.
Because every map here is a plain, unmodified Rust world, Apartment Complex spawns exactly where the game places it for a given seed and world size. Browse generated maps to see real monument layouts, or generate your own and check the monument list on the map page.
