The Arctic Research Base sits in the snow biome, so cold protection — warm clothing — matters as much as your combat gear. It is an "activatable" monument: inserting a fuse and powering the base triggers a defensive response from heavy scientists while unlocking the best loot, including elite crates.
The base also offers utilities you would normally have to build for yourself — a recycler, a research table and a workbench — which makes it a convenient one-stop monument far from your base. A keycard (commonly blue) gates parts of the interior.
Because it is remote and cold, the Arctic Research Base sees less foot traffic than the central monuments, which can make it a quieter high-tier run if you are equipped for the climate and the heavy scientists.
